Greek Gods Mythology - the Creation Myth and the First Deities and Goddesses
Who were the first deities and divinities that featured in ancient Greek Gods Mythology? The story of the ancient Greeks creation myth answers this question. According to ancient mythology life started with Chaos, the first god and primordial deity who ruled over confusion, the void of emptiness, within the universe. Chaos created Nyx out of the darkness and they produced Erebus the lord of the Underworld. These first primeval, or primordial deities, in the creation myth of Greek Gods mythology, were followed by Aether and Hemera then produced Gaia (Earth), Tartarus (Hell) Pontus (sea), and Eros (Love). The legend and stories of the Greek Gods mythology continued when Gaia, the Earth Mother, created Uranus and they overthrew the elder first deities producing twelve gigantic children who became known as the Titans in the Greek Gods mythology. The rebellion of the Titans led to a war between the first deities and the second generation of divinities together with the Gigantes. The Titan males joined with their sisters (the Titanides) to produce children who include many who would become known as the Olympians in ancient Greek Mythology and legend.
